Sari joined her father and brother in the firm in 1979. She became a partner in 1991 and is now the sole shareholder and director of the company.
She is a past President of The Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce and has been the Nelson/Marlborough Branch Secretary of The Institute of Chartered Accountants. Sari is also a past chair of The Bishop Suter Art Gallery and guided The Suter through the process of becoming a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO). This means the future of The Suter is secure as very special community owned asset.
Sari is currently in the process of completing a second degree, this time a B.Com (Marketing). As the role of the Chartered Accountant changes in the modern business environment Sari has recognised the need to extend her areas of expertise so she can be of increased value to her clients.
Sari’s specialist areas are in advice to small to medium sized businesses and advice to not-for-profit organisations. She also offers marketing advice.
Sari is a best selling author of user friendly accounting books for small businesses. Her latest book has received many reviews praising the easy to understand nature of the book.
Neil is the Practice Manager at Savage & Savage and tries to keep everyone happy! He has a background in commercial real estate and small business management so is able to provide sound real estate advice to our clients. This includes buying and selling investment property as well as advice on leasing suitable business premises. Savage & Savage also use his skills to provide commercial property management services for our clients. Neil splits his time between Savage & Savage and writing about wine.
Neil is also a past president of the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, is a former Trustee of the Nelson Regional Economic Development Agency (EDA), after establishing the organisation he spent three years on the board as a Trustee.
His background means Neil is able to provide clients with a wide range of information and advice. He is also able to give advice on governance structures and strategic planning and policy development.
When he is not working you are likely to finding him indulging in his passion for wine (he is also a wine columnist).
Anna first visited New Zealand from Sweden in 2000. She enjoyed it so much she returned here in 2002 to live. Anna quickly established herself in Nelson and at Savage & Savage. Anna prepares annual accounts and tax returns. She has also been studying at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology(NMIT).
Out of work Anna and her husband enjoys time with their two children, Dylan and Mikayla, making the most of the outdoors lifestyle Nelson has to offer.
Rebecca has worked for Savage & Savage since 2006, first as an office junior after school, then as a junior accountant while studying towards her Bachelor of Commerce at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT). Rebecca has now completed her study with the Australia New Zealand Chartered Accountants and has gained her Chartered Accountant qualification.
In her spare time (when she is not busy studying!) she enjoys reading and walking her two tiny dogs (a Chihuahua and a Maltese).
Aleisha has joined us after working in Australia for Downer EDI Rail based in Melbourne. She is studying at NMIT towards a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Accounting. She joined Savage & Savage in 2016 in a part-time role while she is studying and will be managing our tax system, clients PAYE and GST.
When she isn’t studying she is working but still finds time to cuddle her cat, play netball and enjoys the cultural opportunities Nelson has to offer.
Natasha joined us during 2016 as our happy friendly receptionist. As well as looking after our reception and greeting clients with a smile she also assists with GST and office administration. She will happily make you a great coffee when you come in to see us.
Natasha is currently completing Level 3 Business Administration at NMIT and in her spare time she enjoys spending time at the beach in Tata and D’Urville Island
